Hearty sausage & herb stuffing casserole recipe made with Ontario pork, fresh sage, and apples. Easy to prep, perfect for holiday meals or any cozy dinner.

Ingredients:
- 1 lb (454 g) Ontario pork sausages
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) canola oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 each carrot and celery, chopped
- 1 apple, cored and diced
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) chopped fresh sage
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 cups (1.5 L) cubed day-old bread
- 1/3 cup (75 mL) shredded parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) vegetable broth
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter, cubed
Cooking Instructions:
- Remove casings from sausages and discard.
- Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC).
- In a large heatproof skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat and cook sausage meat breaking up with back of spoon for about 5 minutes. Add onion, carrot, celery, apple, sage and garlic; cook stirring for 5 minutes or until softened.
- Stir in bread and cheese. Drizzle over broth and stir to combine.
- Place butter all over top and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
